    Acceptance/Reregistration Policy

Admission is based upon submission of an application for enrollment (including all required documentation), student tour, shadow visit, and a review conducted by our principal. Kindergarten applicants who are new to the school will be screened for Kindergarten readiness. Students applying for grades 1-7 will be assessed during their shadow visit. Saint Paul School does not accept students going into their 8th grade year with the possible exception of a family’s relocation. All applications are subject to review on a case by case basis. Any student who is new to Saint Paul School will be placed on a thirty (30) day probationary period from date of entry into the school. The purpose of this probationary period is to ensure that Saint Paul School can provide appropriately for the educational needs of the student. Saint Paul School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ancestry, national or ethnic origin, or gender.

In reviewing applications, families with children currently attending Saint Paul School have first priority, with consideration given to the following: current Saint Paul School families registering additional children, registered and active parishioners of St. Paul Church; students from other Catholic parishes; students who are displaced from other Catholic schools; students whose parents/guardians are alumni of the school; families enrolling more than one child; commitment to Saint Paul's beyond the kindergarten grade, students who are not affiliated with a Catholic parish, and students who are age eligible according to current state law/requirements for Pre-K3, Pre-K4 and Kindergarten. All students need to be fully toilet trained prior to the beginning of the school year.

Decisions regarding acceptance will be made in accordance with the above considerations by the school principal, as well as the enrollment priorities of the school.

The Connecticut General Assembly has raised the minimum age for automatic entry into public school in Connecticut. Specifically, Section 1 of Public Act 23-208, states that children will need to turn five on or before September 1 of the school year in order to be automatically eligible to enroll in a school kindergarten program. As a nonpublic school, this is a law with which we must comply.

Archdiocese of Hartford Catholic Early Childhood programs will comply with the following state mandates: Enrolling students must be five years of age by September 1 to enter kindergarten, children must be four years of age by September 1 to enter Pre-K4, and children must be three years of age by September 1 to enter Pre-K3.

Re-registration for current Saint Paul School families takes place each February via FACTS. Families must complete a Enrollment Packet and update any information in the system. Families will submit a $300 registration fee to secure their child's space. All admissions/enrollment fees are non-refundable.

If you should have any questions regarding the admissions process please contact our Admissions and Marketing Director, Kelly Esposito at [email protected] or 860-828-4343 x113.
